Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Car Technician in automotive industry.
• Diploma in Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Skilled in vehicle inspections and identifying potential problems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair automotive electrical systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance to ensure longevity.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate technical information clearly.
• Familiar with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Strong understanding of repair best practices and safety procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair on a variety of vehicles, ensuring safety and specs.
• Conduct thorough PDIs and post-repair quality checks for high standards.
• Stay updated with latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
• Communicate with service advisors/customers about condition, estimates, and progress.
• Create Parts and Labor quotations for additional work found during repair.
• Check vehicles per Final Control SOP and report issues to Team Leader.
• Ensure repairs are completed within stipulated time and delivered to customers.
• Report writing, schematic reading and machine repair skills.
• Handle ad-hoc assignments and other duties as needed.

Responsibility

• Perform routine maintenance and repair on a variety of vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct thorough pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and post-repair quality checks to ensure all work is completed to a high standard and vehicles are safe for operation.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies, repair techniques, and industry best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle condition, repair estimates, and service progress, explaining technical issues in a clear and understandable manner.
• Create and provide Parts and Labor quotations for additional work which may be found during the course of repair.
• To conduct checking of vehicle according to Final Control SOP, to ensure all listed points have been checked and any issues to be informed to Team Leader immediately.
• To ensure repairs are performed within the stipulated time, to ensure timely completion of repairs and delivery to customer.
• Report writing, schematic reading and machine repair skills.
• To handle ad-hoc assignments and other duties as assigned by Superior from time to time.
