Job summary

X Mobility Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking an EV Technician to perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on electric vehicles. You will work within our dealership network and progress through XPENG Level 1 Certification during onboarding and beyond based on performance.

The role requires hands-on EV experience, the ability to read schematics, use scanners and multimeters, and strong problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is expected; Chinese is a plus.

Qualifications

• SKM Level 3 in Automotive Technology or related field.
• Must pass XPENG Level 1 Certification.
• 1–2 years hands-on EV repair experience preferred.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and procedures.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Chinese is a plus.

Job description

The EV Technician performs routine maintenance, complex diagnostics, and technical repairs on electric vehicles (EVs). Progression within the dealership network is performance-contingent. Candidates must successfully complete the XPENG Level 1 Certification during onboarding to continue employment and career advancement with X Mobility.SDN.BHD

Key responsibilities

Perform technical troubleshooting, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on electric vehicle models according to manufacturer standards

Conduct scheduled servicing, system updates, brake maintenance, thermal management checks, and high-voltage safety inspections

Install, test, and reconfigure high-voltage components, drive units, and vehicle software systems

Maintain detailed digital service logs, repair orders, and battery diagnostic reports while adhering strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Enforce high-voltage safety compliance, proper PPE usage, and workshop safety regulations at all times

About you

SKM Level 3 (Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia Level 3) in Automotive Technology, Electric Vehicle Maintenance, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering

Must successfully attempt and pass the XPENG Level 1 Certification. Continued employment and advancement with XMobility.SDN.BHD is strictly dependent on achieving this certification

Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on automotive repair experience (hands-on EV experience or apprenticeship completed under SKM Level 3 is preferred)

Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic flowcharts

Hands-on experience using diagnostic scanners, digital multimeters, and specialized hand/power tools

Strong logical troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset

Ability to communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia and English, Chinese is a plus

High attention to detail regarding high-voltage vehicle safety
