Job summary

Carro in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Automotive Foreman to lead workshop technicians and oversee aftersales operations for electric vehicles. The role demands strong diagnostics, leadership, and the ability to coordinate repairs, servicing, and maintenance while ensuring quality and safety standards.

You will guide technicians in EV-related maintenance, ensure adherence to manufacturer guidelines, and collaborate with service advisors, parts, and management to meet Turnaround Time

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Technology, Automotive Engineering, Vehicle Maintenance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in automotive workshop operations.
• Experience as Automotive Foreman / Workshop Team Leader / Senior Technician or Workshop Supervisor is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, troubleshooting, mechanical repairs, electrical systems and preventive maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostic tools, vehicle inspection and repair procedures.
• Knowledge or experience in Electric Vehicles (EV), Hybrid Vehicles, EV systems and high-voltage (HV) safety is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and coordinate daily workshop operations, including technicians, mechanics and other workshop personnel.
• Assign and distribute vehicle repair, servicing and maintenance jobs based on technicians' skills, workload and priorities.
• Monitor repair progress and ensure all vehicles are completed within the targeted Turnaround Time (TAT).
• Provide hands-on technical support in vehicle diagnostics, troubleshooting, fault identification and complex repair cases.
• Guide technicians in performing vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, electrical repairs and EV-related maintenance.
• Ensure all repair and maintenance work follows manufacturer guidelines, technical specifications, SOPs and safety standards.
• Conduct quality inspections on completed repair jobs to minimize rework and customer complaints.
• Work closely with Service Advisors, Job Controllers and Parts Department to ensure smooth job coordination and timely parts availability.
• Monitor technician productivity, workshop performance, manpower allocation and equipment utilization.
• Coach, guide and train technicians to improve technical skills, repair quality and overall workshop productivity.
• Support onboarding and technical development of new technicians and workshop employees.
• Ensure workshop tools and facilities are properly maintained, clean and safe.
• Ensure compliance with workshop safety procedures, particularly EV and HV safety requirements.
