Job summary

STMicroelectronics in Malaysia is seeking an Automation Technician to install, configure, and optimize automation equipment and control systems for safe, reliable manufacturing.

You will program PLCs, HMIs, and sensors, perform preventive maintenance, read schematics, and collaborate with operations and vendors to improve system performance. Diploma in Automation Technology or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have diploma in automation/engineering or related field.
• Experience with PLCs/HMIs and control systems is required.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and optimize automation equipment and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and other automation devices.
• Update software/firmware to support new manufacturing requirements.
• Test systems to ensure performance and compliance.
• Calibrate sensors/actuators for accurate readings.
• Maintain records of maintenance and incidents.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on issues.
