Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an Automation Engineer to design data-driven automation solutions for warehouses in Malaysia. You will gather requirements, visit sites, and craft layouts featuring AGVs, AMRs, 4-way shuttles and tote picking systems.

You will work with sales, engineering and project teams to ensure feasibility and a seamless handover after sale, while staying current with the latest automation trends and providing technical support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial / Mechatronic / Automation Engineering or related field.
• 1-3 years in relevant working experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect data for automation solution design and assess customer environments with site visits if required.
• Develop automation flow and layouts to optimize material handling efficiency.
• Create automation solutions for AGVs, AMRs, 4-way shuttles and tote picking systems.
• Collaborate with sales to translate customer pain points into tailored solutions.
• Prepare proposals with concept layouts, system architecture and ROI calculations.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management and execution teams for feasibility and handover.
• Stay updated on automation tech and recommend improvements.
• Provide technical and product support for solutions.

Job description

Collect necessary data for automation solution design, conduct site visits (if required) to assess customer environments.

Develop automation flow and layout designs based on customer requirements, ensuring optimal material handling efficiency.

Create automation solution for AGVs, AMRs, 4-way shuttles, and tote picking systems, integrating them into existing customer operations.

Work closely with sales teams to understand customer pain points and translate them into tailored automation solutions.

Prepare and present compelling solution proposals, including concept layouts, system architecture, and ROI calculations.

Collaborate with internal engineering, project management, and execution teams to ensure solution feasibility and seamless handover post-sale.

Stay updated on the latest advancements in automation technologies and recommend improvements to existing solutions.

Provide technical / product support and address inquiries related to solutions.

Job Requirements

Knowledge of AGV, AMR, 4-way shuttles, tote picking systems, and warehouse automation technologies is a plus.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools for layout and flow design.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop efficient and scalable automation solutions.

Excellent communication and presentation skills and well versed in English and Mandarin. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Willingness to travel for site visits and customer meetings as needed.

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial / Mechatronic / Automation Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.

Preferably with 1-3 years in relevant working experience
