Job summary

Boston Scientific seeks an engineering professional to design and develop software for new and existing medical device manufacturing equipment. You will integrate controls, hardware, and software, ensuring validation and compliance with software standards.

Strong programming, automation, and troubleshooting skills are required, with focus on AB PLCs and Aerotech systems. You will collaborate with Equipment Engineering and Manufacturing teams to implement control solutions, push CIP initiatives,

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Knowledge of automation systems including PC/PLC-based controls, motion control, and vision systems.
Programming skills in VB.NET and/or C#.
Experience with SQL databases and software troubleshooting/debugging.
Familiarity with Allen-Bradley (AB) PLCs and Aerotech motion control systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to support automation and manufacturing applications.

Responsibilities

Designs and develops software programs for all new equipment and update software for existing equipment where necessary.
Proven track record in operation of electronic controlled manufacturing equipment and familiarity with related software.
Ensure hardware and software are on site and validated per BSIL procedures for hardware/software validation.
Provide full support to Equipment Engineering from electronics/controls perspectives and design/implement control systems for new equipment.
Support manufacturing teams with troubleshooting during downtime and participate in CIP.
Procure standard electrical/software components and evaluate new equipment for environmental impact.
