Job summary

Boston Scientific seeks a seasoned Equipment Engineer to develop and qualify complex equipment, lead cross-functional teams, and drive from concept to qualification for manufacturing efficiency and quality.

The role demands strong leadership, documentation, root-cause analysis, and collaboration across global sites, with mentorship of juniors and coordination with external design partners to meet FDA/QSR expectations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field)
Minimum 8 years of experience in equipment engineering
Proven track record in product transfers, equipment qualification, and equipment setup and improvement
Experience in a matrix organization and cross-site collaboration
Strong project management and technical documentation skills
Proficient in equipment qualification protocol/report writing (ESQ)
Root cause analysis and process & equipment improvement methodologies
Effective communication and stakeholder management across global teams
People manager experience in leading junior engineers or technicians

Responsibilities

Develop specifications and build complex manufacturing and test equipment
Lead and liaise with external design companies to provide engineering solutions
Create and review mechanical designs and drawings using parametric modelling and FEA
Coordinate, monitor, and document project designs, estimates, and costs
Prepare reports to communicate status and results
Lead teams in design, assembly, and debug of equipment
Design pneumatic systems and select components
Assist with FDA/QSR equipment documents and validations
Provide training to ensure proper operation and maintenance
Generate weekly/monthly equipment metrics
