Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Automation Leader to drive the automation roadmap and oversee projects from design to handover. You will lead a team of technicians and engineers, coordinate with Production, QA, IT, Maintenance, and HR, and ensure safety and compliance in every initiative.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in automation/engineering, strong PLC programming skills (Siemens/Omron/Mitsubishi/Allen-Bradley), and proven ability to deliver multi-site projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related fields).
• 5+ years in automation, engineering, system integration, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience leading automation projects or managing a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an automation roadmap to support growth and goals.
• Identify manual processes suitable for automation and propose solutions.
• Lead automation projects from design to execution, testing and handover.
• Install, program, and maintain automation equipment (PLCs, robotics, sensors).
• Troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
• Plan timelines, budgets, and resource allocation; coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Ensure projects meet safety and compliance standards; document systems.
• Provide training to production staff on new automated processes.
