Job summary

ARID Technology Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an entry-level Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic/Automation engineer to develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs and design HMI screens.

Fresh graduates are welcome; you will travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning, work on vision systems, robots, sensors, and machine wiring, and contribute to hands-on assembly and testing while growing with the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Automation, Robotics or related engineering field.
• Fresh graduates and candidates with up to two years of experience welcome.
• Basic knowledge of PLC and HMI programming.
• Basic understanding of industrial automation, electrical control, sensors, motors and pneumatic systems.
• Able to understand electrical schematics and perform basic control wiring.
• Willing to perform hands-on machine assembly, testing and troubleshooting.
• Willing to travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning.
• Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technology.
• Able to work independently and as part of an engineering team.
• Possess a valid driving licence and own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs.
• Design and configure HMI screens, alarms, recipes, and machine settings.
• Set up and program vision inspection systems.
• Integrate cameras, lighting, sensors, and inspection triggers.
• Configure inspection functions such as presence checking, dimension checking, OCR, label checking, pin inspection, and defect detection.
• Program and integrate collaborative robots (cobots) and SCARA robots.
• Perform robot teaching, position adjustment, I/O interfacing, and sequence programming.
• Configure and troubleshoot servo motors and stepper motors.
• Integrate PLCs, HMIs, robots, vision systems, motors, sensors, pneumatic components, barcode readers, and safety devices.
• Carry out machine I/O checking, testing, debugging, and cycle-time improvement.
