Job summary

Sanmina Corporation in Malaysia is seeking an Automation Hardware Staff Engineer to lead the design and development of automated hardware systems. You will select actuators, motors, drivers, controllers, sensors, and robotics while coordinating with cross-functional teams for release to production.

You will generate design documentation and BOMs, estimate costs and ROI, and manage project lead times, ensuring product yield and quality meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree or master in mechanical, electrical, electronics, mechatronics or robotics engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of automation experience, with 2 years in design of automated equipment.
• Detail oriented with knowledge of manufacturing automation concepts and equipment.
• Hands-on experience with 3D modeling using SolidWorks or similar tools.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and customers.

• Provide machine conceptualization, design and development of automated machine hardware system.
• Decide on best hardware system including actuators, motors, drivers, controllers, sensors, robotics, electrical & system components, etc.
• Build automated machine, commissioning, troubleshooting and release to production.
• Generate design documentation, mechanical and basic electrical BOM list including electrical I/Os, controllers, drivers, pneumatics, sensors, etc.

Qualifications Required:

• At least a Diploma, Degree or Master in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering or equivalent.

• Detail oriented and must possess good knowledge and experience in the design of manufacturing automation concept and automated equipment.
• Well verse, hands-on experience in generation full manufacturing automation solution using 3D Solidworksor other modeling software.
