Job summary

Sanmina Corporation in Malaysia is seeking an Automation Hardware Staff Engineer to lead the design and development of automated hardware systems. You will select actuators, motors, drivers, controllers, sensors, and robotics while coordinating with cross-functional teams for release to production.

You will generate design documentation and BOMs, estimate costs and ROI, and manage project lead times, ensuring product yield and quality meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree or master in mechanical, electrical, electronics, mechatronics or robotics engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of automation experience, with 2 years in design of automated equipment.
• Detail oriented with knowledge of manufacturing automation concepts and equipment.
• Hands-on experience with 3D modeling using SolidWorks or similar tools.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide machine conceptualization, design and development of automated hardware systems.
• Decide on best hardware systems including actuators, motors, drivers, controllers, sensors, robotics, etc.
• Build automated machines, commission, troubleshoot and release to production.
• Generate design docs and BOMs for electrical I/Os, controllers, drivers, pneumatics and sensors.
• Provide cost estimation, ROI and project lead time management.
• Support continuous improvement on automation projects to meet yield, quality and customer needs.
