Flex, a leading diversified manufacturing partner, is seeking an Automation Engineer to join its team at Flex PTP in Johor, Malaysia. The role focuses on specifying, designing and maintaining automation equipment and applications to meet specifications.

You will design and modify automation systems, create manuals and maintenance plans, and ensure machine uptime through proactive maintenance while collaborating with engineering to optimize processes for new products.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or similar field.
Typically requires at least 6 years of experience in automation engineering in high tech electronics or related areas.
Mechatronics design experience including robot/cobot implementations.
Automated control experience (PLC programming).
Experience developing devices with automatic camera recognition.
Circuit design skills for equipment.

Responsibilities

Design, engineer, and modify automation equipment, tooling and applications to automate manufacturing processes.
Establish technical manuals, drawings, models, training docs and preventive maintenance plans for automated equipment.
Ensure uptime through preventive and breakdown maintenance and drive for continual improvement.
Collaborate with engineering and operations to optimize automation frameworks for new products.
Identify and drive changes to improve automation effectiveness of existing processes.
Provide feedback to improve process and equipment designs.
