Job summary

Teleplan Advisory Sdn. Bhd. in Johor Bahru is seeking an Audit and Tax Associate to support the Audit & Tax Director in delivering audit, tax, and compliance services. This is a foundational hire with the opportunity to shape the function as the firm scales.

You will assist in planning audits, prepare tax computations, and help with audit working papers and financial statements, while liaising with clients and managing deadlines with some autonomy.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• ACCA or MICPA in progress is a plus.
• Fresh graduates welcomed.
• 2–3 years of relevant audit/tax experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing statutory audits, including fieldwork, testing and documentation.
• Prepare corporate and individual tax computations and returns for review.
• Support preparation of audit working papers and financial statements per standards (MFRS/MPERS).
• Liaise with clients to collect documents, clarify queries, and follow up on items with minimal supervision.
• Handle routine engagements independently; escalate only when judgment or sign-off is needed.
• Help maintain and improve internal checklists, templates, and workflows as the department grows.
• Keep track of filing deadlines and statutory compliance timelines across the client portfolio.

We're looking for an Audit and Tax Associate to join our growing firm and support our Audit & Tax Director in delivering audit, tax, and compliance services to our clients. This is a foundational hire — you'll be one of the first dedicated team members in this department, with real opportunity to help shape how it's run as we scale.

What You'll Do

Assist in planning and executing statutory audits, including fieldwork, testing, and documentation

Prepare corporate and individual tax computations and returns for review

Support preparation of audit working papers and financial statements in accordance with applicable standards (MFRS/MPERS)

Liaise directly with clients to collect documents, clarify queries, and follow up on outstanding items — with minimal supervision

Handle routine engagements independently, escalating only where judgment calls or sign-off are needed

Help maintain and improve internal checklists, templates, and workflows as the department grows

Keep track of filing deadlines and statutory compliance timelines across the client portfolio

Who We're Looking For

Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (professional qualification such as ACCA/MICPA in progress is a plus)。

Fresh Graduate is welcomed

2–3 years of relevant experience in audit and/or tax (candidates from accounting/audit firms preferred)

Comfortable working with a degree of autonomy — our director isn't always on-site, so you'll need to manage your own workload and use good judgment on when to elevate

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple client deadlines at once

Willing to learn and grow into a more senior role as the department expands
