Job summary

S.C. YONG CHIA & CO. in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, invites an experienced Audit Senior to lead external audits for a diverse client base. You will apply high professional standards and industry knowledge to deliver high-quality assurance services.

You will mentor junior team members, liaise with clients, and ensure audits are completed on time and within budget, while contributing to process improvements and compliance with auditing standards.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join our thriving accounting firm, S.C. YONG CHIA & CO., based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. As an Audit Senior, you will play a crucial role in our external audit team, providing high‑quality assurance services to our diverse client base. This is a full‑time position that will allow you to leverage your strong technical skills and industry expertise.

What you'll be doing

• Performing in-depth financial audits for a range of clients across different industries
• Identifying and evaluating potential risks and internal control weaknesses
• Preparing detailed audit reports and presenting findings to clients in a clear and concise manner
• Providing recommendations for process improvements and accounting best practices
• Supervising and mentoring junior audit team members
• Liaising with clients to gather information and clarify queries
• Ensuring all audit work is completed within agreed timelines and budgets

What we're looking for

• Qualified accountant with more than 5 years of experience in external auditing
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles, auditing standards and regulatory requirements
• Proven ability to conduct complex audits, analyse financial data and identify key issues
