Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple audit engagements and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

• Prepare detailed audit working papers and supporting documentation.
• Review financial statements and identify key audit risks.

• Liaise with client finance teams to gather information.

• For Supervisors: oversee junior staff and manage timelines.
• For Senior/Junior: work under supervision and support team objectives.

About the role

We are seeking an Audit Supervisor, Senior or Junior to join our audit team at SQ Associates in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to develop your audit expertise within a collaborative and professional environment. Depending on your experience level, you will progress through our audit ranks, taking on increasingly complex audit engagements and supporting the delivery of external audit services to our valued clients. You will work on-site in our Kota Bharu office, contributing to the execution of audit procedures, quality assurance, and client relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audit procedures and testing in accordance with auditing standards and firm policies
• Prepare detailed audit working papers and supporting documentation
• Review financial statements and identify key audit risks and areas requiring further investigation
• Perform substantive and compliance audit testing on financial statement balances and transactions
• Communicate findings and observations to audit team members and management
• Support the planning and execution of audit engagements from initial planning through to completion
• Liaise with client finance teams to gather information and clarify accounting matters
• Contribute to the maintenance of audit quality standards and firm procedures
• For Supervisors: oversee and review the work of junior audit staff, provide guidance on technical audit matters, and manage audit engagement timelines and budgets
• For Senior and Junior roles: work under the direction of the audit supervisor and contribute to team objectives

What we’re looking for

• Professional accounting qualification (such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent recognised bachelor degree qualification or actively pursuing qualification)
• Proven experience in audit or related assurance services
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and auditing standards (including Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards where applicable)
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple audit engagements and work effectively under deadlines
• Proficiency in audit software and MS Office applications
• For Supervisor level: demonstrated leadership experience, mentoring capabilities, and ability to manage audit teams
• For Senior level: 3-5 years of audit experience with proven technical expertise
• For Junior level: 0-2 years of audit experience or recent graduate with audit knowledge
• Strong commitment to professional ethics and audit quality
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required
