Job summary

Serene & Co is seeking an accounting professional to manage audits for small and medium-sized enterprises across diverse industries. You will lead engagement teams, liaise with audit seniors and clients, and report on progress and critical issues.

The role involves documenting work papers, gathering sufficient audit evidence for the engagement partner's sign-off, coaching juniors, and preparing financial statements compliant with Malaysian standards.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; knowledge of Abot and Superior tax software preferred.
• Qualified or partly qualified with professional accounting bodies (MIA, ACCA, MICPA, CTIM).
• Must have completed an accounting degree.
• Must be able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage audits of SMEs across various industries as assigned by audit manager.
• Liaise with audit seniors, managing partner and clients to report audit status and issues.
• Document and compile audit work papers and obtain sufficient evidence for sign-off.

Job description

To manage audits of small and medium sized companies of various industries assigned by audit manager.

To liaise with audit seniors, managing partner and client as and when necessary to report on audit work status, progress, critical issues and communicate important clients’ matters.

To document and compile audit work papers and obtain sufficient audit evidence to support engagement partner's sign-off of the client's financial statements.

To manage and coach junior audit staff members on engagement teams and review their work

To be able to prepare company and group financial statements which are in compliance with either Malaysian Private Entity Reporting Standards or Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards

Job Requirements:

Qualified or partly qualified in professional accounting bodies (MIA,ACCA,MICPA,CTIM and other relevant bodies) if further studies undertaken. If none but have interest in pursuing professional qualifications, can notify audit manager and engagement partner of your interest.

Must have completed appropriate accounting degree.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and preferably with knowledge of audit software Abot and tax software Superior.

Must be able to communicate in English.

Must be able to work independently, review and coach junior staff members and follow up on their progress
