Job summary

Kreston John & Gan in Malaysia seeks an experienced Audit Partner to lead a diverse portfolio of clients and play a key role in the continued growth and development of our audit practice.

This is more than an engagement leadership role, you will shape client relationships, develop people, strengthen audit quality and contribute to the strategic direction of the practice with a genuine pathway towards equity partnership.

Qualifications

• Extensive expertise in audit practices and financial compliance.
• Experience leading audit teams and managing audits for PIEs.

Key responsibilities

Lead & Deliver - Provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of audit engagements ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency and client service

Shape Audit Strategy - Develop and implement audit strategies that aligned with regulatory requirements, industry developments and the evolving needs of our clients

Champion Quality - Take overall responsibility for audit quality, reviewing financial statements and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting, auditing and regulatory requirements

Advise & Influence - Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insights on financial reporting, regulatory, governance and compliance matters

Build Client Relationships - Develop long-term relationships with key stakeholders by understanding their business, challenges and growth ambitions

Drive Performance - Oversee engagement profitability, resource utilisation, collections and timely delivery across the portfolio

Stay Ahead - Keep abreast of developments in financial regulations, accounting and auditing standards and market developments

Develop Talent - Mentor, coach and empower audit professionals, building a high-performing team and developing the next generation of audit leaders

Develop the Practice - Contribute to business development, identify opportunities for growth and help expand the firm's client base and market presence

About you

The ideal candidate will bring:

Extensive expertise in audit practices and financial compliance

A strong track record of leading audit teams and managing audits of Public Interest Entities (PIEs)

Strong analytical, judgement and problem-solving capabilities

Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills

Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian Regulatory and Compliance Frameworks

The ability to build trusted relationships with senior management, boards and key stakeholders

A commercial mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and contribute to practice growth

The ambition and leadership maturity to progress towards equity partnership
