SFAI Malaysia invites applications for an Audit Associate to join our audit team in Puchong, Selangor. This full-time role supports delivering external audit services to a diverse client portfolio, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

You will perform audit procedures, prepare working papers, and assist senior auditors in planning and executing engagements while upholding confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, MFRS, MPERS.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and audit software.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidates pursuing CA(M), CPA or ACCA advantageous.

About the role

We are seeking an Audit Associate to join SFAI Malaysia's audit team in Puchong, Selangor. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to develop your auditing expertise within a dynamic professional environment. As an Audit Associate, you will support the delivery of external audit services to our diverse client portfolio, playing a crucial role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This position is integral to maintaining the quality and integrity of our audit services.

What you’ll be doing

• Conducting audit procedures and testing on client financial records, transactions and supporting documentation
• Preparing working papers and audit schedules to document findings and evidence gathered during audit fieldwork
• Assisting senior audit team members in planning and executing audit procedures in accordance with relevant auditing standards
• Performing substantive testing and analytical reviews to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial information
• Identifying and communicating audit findings, control deficiencies and recommendations to clients and senior management
• Supporting the preparation of audit reports and management letters
• Liaising with clients to obtain necessary documentation and clarifications during the audit process
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of audit processes and methodologies
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional ethical standards throughout all audit engagements

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (IFRS, MFRS, MPERS)
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit software packages
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Professional attitude with excellent time management and organisational abilities
• Candidates pursuing or holding professional qualifications such as CA(M), CPA or ACCA would be advantageous
• Previous audit experience or internship in an audit firm would be beneficial
