Job summary

SFAI MALAYSIA PLT is seeking an Audit professional to perform planning and fieldwork, assess risks, and test controls. The role involves preparing reports, analysing financial statements, and recommending enhancements to internal controls.

You will work independently and in teams, with opportunities for professional growth and involvement in due diligence and PFI engagements. Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia are required; Mandarin is a plus for Mandarin-speaking

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform audit planning and fieldwork including risk assessment, scoping, testing and issue identification.
• Prepare and finalize audit working papers and audit reports to expected standards.
• Conduct in-depth analysis and evaluation of financial statements and accounting records.
• Evaluate internal controls, identify control gaps and recommend enhancements.
• Engage in special projects such as financial due diligence, review engagements and PFI.
• Liaise with clients on engagement matters and highlight accounting issues.

Job description

Perform audit planning and fieldwork, including risk assessment, scoping, testing and issue identification using audit program (system)

Prepare and finalize audit working papers and audit reports to the standards and quality expected.

Conduct in-depth analysis and evaluation of financial statements, accounting records, and other financial data.

Evaluate the adequacy of internal controls, identify control gaps, and recommend enhancements.

Ensure quality work and professional growth.

Effective communication and problem-solving skills

Able to work productively independently and in a team environment

Prepare draft tax computation and ensure adequate provision of tax liabilities.

Engage in special projects, such as financial due diligence, review engagements and Prospective Financial Information (PFI) engagement.

Liaise with clients on all aspects of the engagement including highlighting to the client the issues related to accounting or other related areas.

Qualifications:

Ability to communicate in Mandarin will be an added advantage, particularly when dealing with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Professional accounting qualification and/or a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field. Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, MIA or equivalent) will be an added advantage.

Candidates with a minimum of 2 to 3 years of related experience in Auditing. Candidate with managerial experience may be considered for the Management position.

Strong exposure in Audit Planning and Risk Assessment in audit engagements is essential.

Knowledge of accounting standards (MFRS/MPERS/PERS) will be an added advantage.

Fresh graduates with no working experience but with excellent academic results will be considered.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin speakers will be an advantage.

Strong attention to detail, organization, interpersonal skills and time management skills.

Good in follow-up and reporting, ability to work independently, multitask, and handle confidential information with discretion.

Ability to start work with short notice will be an advantage.
