Job summary

Astro Malaysia invites applications for a creative copywriter/scriptwriter role. You will craft engaging radio scripts, branded content, and client-sponsored initiatives, while translating content across languages and ensuring tone and messaging remain consistent.

You will collaborate with sales, production and programming teams to deliver compelling communication solutions, manage multiple projects, and meet strict deadlines. A relevant degree and strong writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Participate in client briefings, presentations, and discussions when required.
• Provide copywriting, scriptwriting, and translation support for multimedia content.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interpret client briefs and translate business objectives into compelling creative solutions.
• Conceptualise and develop creative ideas and scripts for radio commercials, branded content, and client-sponsored station initiatives.
• Produce high-quality, persuasive, and engaging copy that aligns with brand objectives and audience preferences.
• Adapt and translate content across multiple languages while preserving tone, intent, and messaging effectiveness.
• Manage a high volume of scriptwriting projects while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining creative excellence.
• Ensure all scripts and creative content comply with regulatory, legal, and industry guidelines, as well as internal standards.
• Source, engage, and manage voice-over talent for commercial productions.
• Direct and supervise voice-over recording sessions to ensure accurate delivery and creative quality.
• Proofread, edit, and refine scripts and marketing content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Participate in client briefings, presentations, and discussions when required.
• Provide copywriting, scriptwriting, and translation support for multimedia content, including videos, digital platforms, social media, case studies, corporate events, and promotional materials.
• Collaborate closely with sales, production, programming, and other stakeholders to deliver effective communication solutions for clients.

REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent copywriting, scriptwriting, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong creative flair.
• Exceptional command of grammar, language, and storytelling techniques.
• Ability to develop fresh, relevant, and audience-focused creative concepts across a wide range of industries and subject matters.
• Strong appreciation of music, audio, and sound design, with the ability to leverage these elements effectively in creative executions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven writing, copywriting, content creation, or related experience is an advantage.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Mass Communication, Linguistics, or a related discipline.
• Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and consistently exceed expectations.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and collaborative with excellent interpersonal skills.
