Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking an Associate Project Controller Protege Trainee (Ref.No. R0143342) for our Kuala Lumpur location.

Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience will assist with project control tools, budgets, and financial trackers while developing professional skills in a global engineering environment. You will review PR requests against budgets, support monthly closing, analysis, and reporting, and collaborate with Project Managers, Procurement, and Finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience are welcome to apply.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; SAP knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update project control tools, dashboards, and financial trackers.
• Review Purchase Requisition (PR) requests against approved project budgets before release and escalate any exceptions.
• Review project timesheets to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support monthly project financial closing, reporting, reconciliations, and forecast updates.
• Assist with project cost monitoring, budget tracking, and financial analysis.
• Prepare reports and ad hoc analyses to support Project Controllers and Project Managers.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Procurement, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with project governance processes.
• Support continuous improvement of project control processes and reporting tools.
• Progressively manage assigned low-complexity projects and/or product and spare parts sales orders as part of professional development.

Key Responsibilities
