Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking an experienced Formulation R&D professional to join its technical team in Kuala Lumpur. This hands-on role requires ownership of development projects, solving technical challenges, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across R&D, Manufacturing and Quality.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in pharmaceutical formulation and product development, with hands-on experience in oral solid dosage forms such as tablets or capsules, and strong communication

Responsibilities

• Manage formulation and product development activities from development through scale-up and commercialisation.
• Plan and execute development trials and optimisation activities.
• Evaluate technical results and recommend development actions.
• Troubleshoot formulation and process-related challenges across product development stages.
• Support scale-up and transfer of products into manufacturing.
• Prepare and review technical development documentation.
• Manage multiple projects and ensure key milestones are achieved.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality and other functions.
• Provide technical input during manufacturing challenges.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

about the requirements

• Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Around 5 years or more of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong hands-on experience in formulation and product development.
• Experience with oral solid dosage forms such as tablets and/or capsules is essential.
• Good understanding of pharmaceutical development processes and regulatory requirements.
• Exposure to scale-up, technology transfer and manufacturing support would be advantageous.
• Able to independently manage projects and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Previous people-management experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
