Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a product development professional in Kuala Lumpur to drive the non-pharma NPD framework, oversee sourcing, prototype development and cost evaluation for specialized wellness portfolios.

You will conduct market research in modular nutrition, track trends, and spearhead high-impact product expansions while collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure seamless execution and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of nutraceutical/pharmaceutical experience.
• Leadership or people-management experience an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot product quality issues, refine formulations, and coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers for compliant execution.

The role:

• Drive the non-pharma new product development framework, overseeing sourcing, prototype development, and cost evaluation for specialized wellness portfolios.
• Conduct market research and data analysis in modular nutrition and niche product categories to spot trends and spearhead high-impact product expansions.
• Troubleshoot product quality issues, refine formulations, and partner with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure seamless execution and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with supply chain teams to align production planning, coordinate deliveries, manage raw material substitutions, and drive strategic ad-hoc projects.

The experience:

• Bachelor’s or Professional Degree, ideally in Food Science & Nutrition, Nutrition & Wellness, Food Technology, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of specialized experience within the Nutraceutical or Pharmaceutical sectors. Prior experience in people management would be an added advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (fluency in Mandarin is an added advantage).
• Open to occasional outstation travel for industry exhibitions, stakeholder meetings, and off-site projects.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong planning and organizational capabilities, self-discipline, and a collaborative team mindset.
