Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Sodexo quality manuals and ability to implement policies and procedures per contract requirements.
• Ability to manage all aspects of food service operations and financial management.
• Knowledge of food safety, HACCP practices and workplace safety and health requirements.
• Ability to lead by example with hands-on involvement in catering operations.

• Effective staff management, including motivation, development, performance management, and recruitment at site.
• Organizing formal training with HR, providing on-the-job training, and addressing training needs.
• Overseeing work schedules to ensure value delivered to clients and residents.
• Overseeing annual staff appraisals and disciplinary actions with Operations Manager.
• Ensure preparation, presentation and service adhere to Sodexo standards and timelines.
• Delegating and instructing staff to maintain quality food service.
• Complying with statutory and Sodexo obligations regarding food safety, HACCP and hygiene standards.
• Managing all aspects of food service to achieve a sustainable financial result within budget.
• Managing accounting and bookkeeping tasks: GRR, timesheets, stock takes, payroll and related documents.
• Establishing and maintaining client relationships to maximize business retention.

Assistant Unit Manager (Food Operations )

The Assistant Unit Manager is responsible for the overall daily outlet operations at Sodexo Malaysia, managing all aspects of food service delivery while ensuring compliance with Sodexo standards, food safety regulations, and financial targets. This role requires hands-on involvement in catering operations balanced with administrative duties, working closely with kitchen and service teams to deliver quality service to clients and residents.

Key responsibilities

• Effective staff management, including motivation, development, performance management, and recruitment at site
• Organizing formal training with the Human Resources Department, providing structured on-the-job training, and identifying and addressing individual training needs
• Overseeing work schedules for all employees to ensure full value is always offered to clients and residents
• Oversee the annual appraisals of all staff and conduct disciplinary action when required in conjunction with Operations Manager
• Ensure that the preparation, presentation, and service is carried out promptly according to Sodexo standards
• Delegating and instructing staff to ensure quality food service is always carried out
• Comply with all statutory and Sodexo obligations regarding food safety, HACCP and hygiene standards
• Manage all aspects of the food service to ensure a sustainable financial result is achieved in line with the set budget
• Manage the accounting and bookkeeping function with legible, precise, accurate and timely completion of the GRR, time sheets, stock take, payroll and other documents as required
• Establishment and maintenance of sound business relationships with client and site managing team to ensure maximum business retention
