Job summary

AL-IKHSAN MY TOWN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations in Kuala Lumpur. You will assist the Store/Sales Manager, lead the sales team, drive proactive selling and upselling, and help achieve store targets.

You’ll monitor performance, maintain customer service standards, manage merchandising and stock, and contribute to staff recruitment and training. This role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to work weekends and shifts.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Retail Management, Marketing, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in retail sales or store supervision (sports retail experience is an advantage).
• Candidates proficient in Store Metrics such as AUP (Average Unit per Transaction), IPT (Items per Transaction), and ATV (Average Transaction Value) will have an added advantage.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work on weekends, public holidays, and rotational shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store/Sales Manager in daily store operations and staff performance.
• Achieve sales targets through proactive selling and upselling.
• Lead, motivate, and coach the sales team to achieve targets.
• Monitor sales performance, analyse data, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure the highest standards of customer service and satisfaction.
• Manage visual merchandising, stock display, and product replenishment per guidelines.
• Handle inventory control, stock takes, and loss prevention activities.
• Support recruitment, training, and development of store staff.
• Prepare and present sales and performance reports to management.
• Act as the person-in-charge in the absence of the Store / Branch Manager.
