You will manage customer communications, coordinate schedules, monitor quality, and support inventory while helping develop staff and maintain high service standards across Proton vehicles.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in automotive service, preferably in a dealership or 4S centre.
• Solid knowledge of vehicle servicing and Proton vehicles preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication with clients and staff.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities for multiple priorities.
• Ability to work with service scheduling, quality control, and cost management.

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Service Manager to join our Proton 4S Centre at REGAL MOTORS HOLDINGS SDN. BHD. in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of our service department and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. As Assistant Service Manager, you will work alongside the Service Manager to oversee daily service operations, manage customer relationships, and maintain the highest standards of vehicle servicing and repairs. This position is essential to our business as it ensures our customers receive outstanding service experiences whilst maintaining operational efficiency and profitability.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the Service Manager in overseeing all daily service operations and ensuring efficient workflow in the service department

Managing customer communication, addressing service queries and resolving complaints professionally and promptly

Coordinating service schedules and ensuring technicians are allocated work efficiently

Monitoring service quality standards and ensuring all work meets company and manufacturer specifications

Liaising with customers regarding repair progress, estimates and completion of their vehicles

Maintaining accurate service records and ensuring proper documentation of all work performed

Assisting with vehicle inspections and preparing service quotes and repair estimates

Supporting inventory management for spare parts and service materials

Helping to identify opportunities for service upselling and ensuring customer satisfaction metrics are met

Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting the professional development of service staff

What we're looking for

Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an automotive service environment, preferably in a dealership or 4S centre setting

Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, maintenance procedures and Proton vehicles is highly desirable

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff

Proven organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities simultaneously

A good understanding of service operations, including scheduling, quality control and cost management

Proficiency in service management software and computer systems (e.g DMS System)

Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, parts departments and management

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging customer situations with diplomacy

Fluency in English and Malay; additional languages are an asset

Valid driving licence and willingness to occasionally test drive vehicles

A professional appearance and commitment to maintaining high service standards
