Job summary

Tan Chong Group in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Assistant Quantity Survey Manager for property/showroom renovations, retail and factory projects. You will lead cost planning, budgeting, tender processes, and PAM/FIDIC contract administration from design to completion.

The role requires 5–10 years in construction or property development, strong negotiation and financial acumen, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• 5–10 years of solid experience in construction or property development.
• Deep familiarity with FIDIC, PAM, and JKR contract forms.
• Professional memberships (RICS/RISM) preferred.
• Strong negotiation tactics, financial acumen, and independent in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Cost Management: Oversee cost planning, budgeting, and value engineering from design to completion.
• Tender Leadership: Lead end-to-end procurement, including BQ preparation, tender evaluation, and negotiations.
• Contract Expertise: Draft and administer PAM/FIDIC contracts, resolving complex claims or disputes.
• Financial Oversight: Manage progress valuations, cash flow forecasts, and final account reconciliations.
• Risk Mitigation: Identify commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
