Job summary

Samurai 2K Aerosol Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Assistant QAQC Manager to oversee QA/QC operations, ensure product quality and regulatory compliance. • BS degree in Chemistry/related field.
• 5–8 years QA/QC experience in chemical/coating industries.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015.
• Experience with colour matching, viscosity control & material analysis.
• Knowledge of aerosol paint formulation & propellant systems.
• Familiar with calibration systems & quality documentation.
• Experience supervising a QA/QC team.
• Good communication in Bahasa Malaysia & English.

Job description

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Assistant QAQC Manager to oversee QA/QC operations and ensure consistent product quality, regulatory compliance, and continual improvement. The role will be responsible for maintaining the company's ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems, leading quality improvement initiatives, managing customer complaints and CAPA, and supporting product development and validation.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Act as the Management Representative (MR) for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Lead internal audits and coordinate external, certification, customer and regulatory audits.

Oversee incoming, in-process and finished goods quality inspections.

Review and approve QC reports, COAs, specifications and product release decisions.

Ensure laboratory equipment and measuring instruments are properly calibrated and maintained.

Manage product testing, retention samples and product stability monitoring.

Lead Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, PDCA and FMEA activities.

Monitor quality performance, defects, customer complaints, returns and improvement actions.

Lead Kaizen and continuous improvement projects to reduce defects, rework, scrap and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).

Collaborate with R&D on new product development, formulation validation, colour matching and NPI.

Review quality impact of formulation changes, BOM revisions and process changes.

Develop and monitor Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) and supplier performance.

Handle customer quality complaints and coordinate investigation and corrective actions.

Lead and develop the QA/QC team, including inspectors, chemists and technicians.

Provide quality support to Production, R&D, Planning, Procurement and Maintenance.

Ensure compliance with applicable chemical, environmental, safety and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry or related science field.

Minimum 5–8 years of QA/QC experience, preferably in chemical, coating, aerosol or paint manufacturing.

Strong knowledge and practical experience in ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.

Experience in colour matching, viscosity control, raw material analysis and coating/paint testing.

Knowledge of aerosol paint formulation, LPG/DME propellant systems, solvent-based coatings and wet chemistry testing.

Familiar with testing such as density, pH, viscosity, fineness, spray performance, adhesion, drying time, gloss and hardness.

Experience handling customer complaints, NCR, CAPA and 8D reports.

Strong knowledge of calibration systems, internal/external audits and quality documentation.

Experience in leading or supervising a QA/QC team.

Good understanding of SDS/MSDS, TDS, chemical safety and relevant regulatory requirements.

Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills.

Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Willing to travel between the factory and customer sites when required.
