Job summary

Sealed Air in Penang is seeking an Assistant QA Manager to lead the site QA team at the Fagerdala plant in Prai and drive quality improvements. You will ensure incoming, in-process and outgoing goods are inspected, coordinate with production on non-conforming products, and lead ISO 9001/14001/45001 and related certifications while maintaining DOE compliance and effective document control.

You will also interface with customers on quality issues, manage audits, and initiate continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Min. Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of working experience in Quality Assurance activities.
• Ability to lead QA section.
• Experience in ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 certification & preferably with RBA/FSC experience.
• Self-motivated with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good communication, people management and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Manage the performance of the site QA team and provide coaching when necessary for performance improvement.
• Ensure all incoming, in-process and outgoing goods are inspected and tested.
• Coordinate with production when there is a detection of non-conforming product & discuss for solution.
• Ensure all quality information and data are communicated timely with the related departments.
• Coordinate and interface with customers on quality issues.
• Handle customer complaints and supplier quality issues.
• Lead and coordinate with related departments on customer audit and ensure FM compliance to the requirements.
• Ensure First Article are carried out effectively and timely.
• Obtain/maintain/implement certification of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, FSC & RBA.
• Act as Asst MR for ISO and ensure ISO compliance including conduct Management review meeting.
• Ensure document control are meeting ISO requirements and ready for audit when needed.
• Initiate continuous quality improvement programs.
• Inform management on non-compliant of the product quality & process requirements and recommended for correction & prevention action.
• Ensure equipments are comply to calibration process & keep track on the validity period.
• Appointed as competent person under Department of Environment (DOE) for schedule waste management.
• Liaise with DOE on eSWIS system on report, inventory, consignment and ensure compliance to DOE regulations for schedule waste collection with no penalty incur.
• Submit necessary report/data for superior review or departmental report compilcation.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by superior.
