Job summary

Jora Malaysia seeks a seasoned workshop professional to oversee production planning, drive improvements, and manage costs across the manufacturing floor. You will enforce process discipline, orchestrate 6S safety initiatives, and lead a team through continuous optimization.

Ideal candidates have a Diploma or higher in chemical fields, extensive battery-making experience, and strong leadership and communication abilities to coordinate across departments in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or above in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills; familiar with battery manufacturing processes and electrochemistry knowledge.
• Over 8 years of experience in battery manufacturing or related electrochemical industry, including at least 5 years of workshop management experience.
• Training in production management, performance management, basic lithium-ion battery production knowledge, safety, processes, and quality/environmental management systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor workshop production plan completion and coordinate/resolving production abnormalities.
• Compile and report monthly production performance, analyze abnormalities and implement improvements.
• Control and manage energy, raw material consumption, labor costs, and manufacturing expenses.
• Review work instructions and monitor process compliance at each production stage.
• Organize personnel for 5S on-site inspections and prepare audit reports.
• Propose manpower planning and conduct exit interviews as capacity requires.
• Establish a 6S and safety management system and conduct regular inspections.
• Assist in selecting new equipment and coordinate procurement and calibration status.

• 2.Regularlyorganizepersonneltoconduct6Sandsafetymanagementinspections.
• 3.Promptlyimplementcorrectiveactionsfornon-conformitiesidentifiedduringon-site6Sinspectionsandaddresspotentialsafetyhazards.

EquipmentandMetrologyManagement

• 1.Participateinreviewingandconfirmingthecontentofequipmentmaintenanceandrepairplans.
• 3.Conductinspectionsandperformanceassessmentsofdailyequipmentmaintenance.
• 4.Assistrelevantdepartmentsinselectingnewequipmentfortheworkshopandconductingincomingacceptanceinspections,aswellasassistingwithequipmentdisposalandscrapping.
• 5.Applyforandarrangetimelyprocurementofthemeasuringinstrumentsrequiredbytheworkshop,andensuretheirvalidityandcalibrationstatus.

PerformanceandCompensationManagement

• 1.Responsibleforworkforceplanning,includingdeterminingtheappropriatestaffinglevelsandjobpositionsfortheworkshop.
• 2.Prepare,review,andrevisejobdescriptionsforworkshopfunctionsandmanagementpositions.
• 3.Conductandmaintainstandardtimemeasurements,andworkwiththeHumanResourcesDepartmenttoestablishpieceratesforeachproductionprocess.
• 5.Reviewpiece-ratepayrollcalculationsandapproveemployeeperformance-basedcompensationallocationplans.

ProductDesignandDevelopment

• 1.Arrangeproducttrialsandtestingappropriately,identifyandconfirmissuesencounteredduringthenewproducttrialproductionprocess,andproviderecommendationsforsmall-batchproductionandproductfinalization.
