Job summary

SD Guthrie International is seeking an Assistant Manager, Production in Johor, Malaysia. The role focuses on end-to-end supply chain planning, production scheduling, and capacity optimization to ensure OTIF delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing or production.
• Strong capability in production planning, scheduling, and capacity planning.
• Forecasting manpower, materials, and machine requirements; monitoring production flow and adjusting plans.

Responsibilities

• Ensure on-time and in-full delivery by managing end-to-end supply chain operations across plants.
• Develop and execute short-term and medium-term production schedules to optimize line efficiency and minimize changeovers.
• Monitor real-time inventory of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods; coordinate replenishment with procurement and logistics.
• Lead S&OP processes and forecast scenario planning to align demand with supply capabilities.
• Support annual business planning, budgeting, and product costing; track KPIs like OTIF, inventory ageing, and capacity utilization.
• Coordinate daily with operations, QC, logistics, and commercial teams to troubleshoot bottlenecks and communicate performance.

Supply Chain & Production Planning (Core Responsibility)* Ensure on-time and in-full (OTIF) delivery of customer orders by managing end-to-end supply chain operations across refineries, palm/kernel fractionation, hydrogenation, and inter-esterification plants.* Develop and execute short-term and medium-term production schedules (S&OE) that optimize line efficiency, minimize changeovers, and balance demand with available capacity.* Monitor and manage real-time inventory levels of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods to prevent stockouts or overstocking, coordinating with procurement and logistics for timely replenishment.* Act as the key liaison between commercial, operations, and logistics teams to ensure seamless flow of materials and products to customers.2. Demand & Supply Planning* Lead monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, consolidating input from commercial, operations, and finance to align demand forecasts with supply capabilities.* Conduct forecasting and scenario planning (short- and long-term) to anticipate demand fluctuations and production capacity constraints.* Recommend adjustments to operational purchase plans, stock balances, and safety stock policies to optimize working capital while meeting service-level targets.3.
