Job summary

Funding Societies | Modalku in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Operations Leader to guide a hands-on team responsible for KYC/AML workflows, loan documentation, and process improvements. You will drive standardization, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver compliant, efficient operations.

You will map workflows, pilot AI automation, and build dashboards to monitor KPIs, turnaround times, and risk, reporting to senior leadership while maintaining robust SOPs and documentation.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years in fintech, digital lending, or banking back-office operations with 2+ years supervising a hands-on team
• Solid grasp of KYC, loan documentation workflows, and AML requirements
• Proven ability to automate processes and implement measurable improvements
• Strong coaching, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Data-driven mindset with Excel, data analysis, and reporting tools; SQL or Power BI a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and manage 3–5 operations team members, driving accountability and growth
• Stay hands-on in daily operations, document reviews, EKYC/AML screenings, and monthly audits
• Set operational standards, checklists, and workflows to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Map workflows to remove bottlenecks and improve efficiency; pilot and implement AI tools
• Maintain up-to-date SOPs and process documentation
• Prepare external stakeholder documentation and build dashboards to track KPIs
• Analyze operational data and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership

What you will do:

• Team Leadership & Operations
  • Lead, coach, and manage 3-5 operations team members, driving accountability and growth
  • Stay hands-on by directly participating in daily operations, document reviews, EKYC/AML screenings, and monthly audits

  • Map workflows to eliminate bottlenecks and optimize operational efficiency
  • Test, pilot, and implement AI tools and automation solutions to streamline processes
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Reporting & Analytics
  • Prepare external stakeholder documentation
  • Build dashboards to track team KPIs, turnaround times, error rates, and SLA compliance
  • Analyze operational data to identify risks and present recommendations to senior leadership

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• Experience: 4-6 years in fintech, digital lending, or banking back-office operations, with 2+ years supervising a hands-on team
• Domain Knowledge: Solid grasp of KYC, loan documentation workflows, and AML requirements
• Track Record: Proven ability to automate processes and implement measurable process improvements
• Leadership: Strong coaching, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Analytical Skills: Data-driven mindset proficient with Excel, data analysis, and reporting tools (SQL or Power BI is a plus)
• Key Traits: Self-starter with high attention to detail, strong resilience in fast-paced environments, and a growth mindset
