Job summary

myNEWS Holding Berhad is seeking an Assistant Manager to develop and execute strategies for our Bakery, Desserts & RTE portfolio using the full PDCA cycle to hit revenue and gross profit targets. You will drive innovation, develop products like Sweet Buns, Savoury Buns, Family Packs, and ISF products, manage ambient and chilled desserts, and oversee 6Ps including placement and display planning.

Requires at least 5 years in bakery within retail, CVS, FMCG, or food service; strong English,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in bakery within retail, CVS, FMCG or food service.
• Knowledge of Food Science & Technology, Halal, and Food Safety.
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills to support business decisions.

Job description

Develop and execute strategies using the full PDCA cycle to achieve short- and long-term revenue and gross profit targets for the Bakery, Desserts & RTE portfolio.

Drive successful, profitable, and sustainable innovation strategies for Bakery, Desserts & RTE.

Develop new and innovative Bakery products, including Sweet Buns, Savoury Buns, Family Packs, and ISF products.

Develop and manage ambient and chilled dessert products.

Develop and execute the 6Ps: Product, Promotion, Place, Price, People (Handling, Storage & Display Planogram), and Positioning for Bakery offerings.

Monitor customer, channel, competitor, cost, and category/portfolio trends to identify opportunities and improve Bakery, Desserts & RTE strategies.

Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Budget with the superior.

Develop innovation plans and monitor sales performance against targets, including recovery and mitigation plans for any shortfalls.

Conduct range reviews and analyse product performance to continuously improve the product offering.

Perform any other ad hoc tasks assigned by the superior or management.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of working experience in the bakery category within retail, CVS, FMCG, or food service industry.

Knowledge of Food Science & Technology, Halal, and Food Safety.

Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.

Good command of written and spoken English.

Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills to support business decision-making.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
