Job summary

Biocon in Malaysia is seeking an experienced procurement professional to manage direct materials for DS/DP production. You will support functional leads to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets by ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and packaging.

Key duties include planning monthly/quarterly requirements, issuing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers and warehouse teams, and driving improvements in OTIF, cost savings and cycle times while adhering to QA SOPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's in business, material management, supply chain, finance or science/engineering.
• 6-8 years’ experience in procurement of direct materials in a manufacturing unit.
• Experience in Pharmaceuticals/Healthcare industry would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan monthly and quarterly procurement for raw materials and packaging to meet production schedules.
• Raise POs and forecasts on time and track deliveries.
• Qualify and develop sources for materials in line with QA SOPs.
• Maintain cordial relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Escalate unresolved issues promptly to avoid production outages.
• Coordinate with warehouse and external suppliers for receipt and storage of materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for day-to-day procurement operations.
• Align SLAs with internal teams on deliveries and activities.
• Track KPIs monthly: OTIF, cost savings, PR to PO cycle time, supply defect rate.

Job description

The incumbent will be responsible of procurement operations for raw materials and packaging items required for DS/DP production. To support procurement functional leads to achieve its targets (monthly, quarterly and annually) in terms of delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Working on monthly and quarter plans for raw materials and packaging items to meet production schedule
• Timely raising of purchase orders and forecasts to vendors and tracking for deliveries
• Adhering to SOP’s (standard operating procedures) as defined by Quality Assurance in qualifying and developing new sources for raw materials and packaging items
• Establishing and maintaining cordial relationship with internal stakeholders and suppliers
• Take active role in resolution of issues related to supplies to ensure zero production outages
• Co-ordinating with warehouse personnel and external suppliers as required for receipt and storage of raw materials and packaging items
• Timely escalations for unresolved items
• Work closely and co-ordinate with all cross-functional teams, finance, planning team, quality, production, warehouse and SAP/BRM team for smooth day-to-day procurement operations
• Work with functional leads to align on SLAs with internal teams with respect to deliveries/activities
• Tracking of following KPIs on monthly basis

Qualifications

• Bachelors/master's in business, Material Management, Supply Chain, Finance or Science/Engineering
