Job summary

Heinemann Asia Pacific Pte Ltd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Assistant Manager / Manager, Inventory (Beauty) to lead inventory planning, governance and replenishment across stores and distribution channels. You will drive forecasting, enhance stock availability, oversee controls and cycle counts, and partner with Supply Chain, Warehouse and Retail teams while mentoring the Inventory group.

This role offers exposure to a global beauty category and opportunities to implement process improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in inventory management, demand planning, replenishment, or supply chain operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with inventory management systems, ERP/MRP tools, and reporting platforms.
• Retail, Beauty, FMCG or Consumer Goods experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Inventory Planning & Replenishment: develop plans and forecasts to ensure optimal stock availability and minimize out-of-stock situations.
• Inventory Control & Governance: ensure inventory accuracy through stock controls, cycle counts, stock takes, and reconciliations.
• Inventory Operations & Improvement: oversee ordering, tester inventory, replenishment errors, and IDOC issue resolution; optimize flow.
• Analytics & Reporting: develop and monitor performance metrics, dashboards and reports for stock health and turnover.
• Leadership & Stakeholder Management: lead and develop the Inventory team; collaborate with stakeholders.

Inventory Planning & Replenishment

• Develop inventory plans and forecasts to ensure optimal stock availability and minimize out-of-stock situations.
• Manage inventory parameters, replenishment settings, and ordering processes to balance customer demand and inventory investment.
• Monitor inventory performance and drive actions to improve stock turnover and reduce excess inventory.
• Partner with Category Management to support assortment planning and product availability.

Inventory Control & Governance

• Ensure inventory accuracy through effective stock control processes, cycle counts, stock takes, and reconciliations.
• Monitor inventory discrepancies, damages, expiry, returns, and shrinkage, and implement corrective actions.

Inventory Operations & Improvement

• Oversee operational inventory activities including ordering, tester inventory management, inventory exceptions, Open PO clean up, replenishment error checking, article/EAN validation and IDOC issue resolution.
• Work with Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Retail Operations teams to optimize replenishment and inventory flow.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and inventory productivity initiatives.

Analytics & Reporting

• Develop, monitor and communicate inventory performance metrics, dashboards and management reports to support business decision-making. This includes:
• Inventory ageing and slow-moving stock
• Stock availability and out-of-stock performance
• Supplier fulfilment and service levels
• Inventory turnover and stock health
• ABC product classification
• Shelf capacity versus assortment optimisation
• Tester inventory performance
• Inventory variance and shrinkage analysis
• Prepare reports and provide recommendations to improve inventory performance and working capital efficiency.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead, coach, and develop the Inventory team.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support business growth and operational excellence.
