Job summary

Parkson Credit Sdn Bhd seeks a seasoned IT Infrastructure Lead to own server and cloud environments, ensuring high availability. You will oversee Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, storage, and DR planning, while guiding junior staff and coordinating with vendors.

Ideal candidates bring 5–8 years of hands-on infra experience, at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role, and strong English/Bahasa Malaysia communication skills. Based in Kuala Lumpur with occasional travel to branches.

Job description

• Act as the Person-in-Charge (PIC) for all server-related matters, managing both on-premise data centers and cloud infrastructure.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of physical servers, virtual machines (VMware/Hyper-V), and storage systems (SAN/NAS).
• Monitor system health, performance, and capacity, executing proactive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.

2. Security, Backup, & Disaster Recovery

• Enforce robust IT security policies, including patch management, endpoint protection, and access controls in compliance with local regulations (e.g., PDPA) and industry standards.
• Manage enterprise backup and restoration processes.
• Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
• Coordinate with external vendors, ISPs, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of IT solutions, hardware maintenance, and SLA compliance.
• Lead or assist in infrastructure-related projects, such as server migrations, cloud deployments, hardware refreshes, and security enhancements.
• Supervise, coach, and mentor junior IT executives and technical support staff.
• Act as an escalation point (L3 support) for complex server, network, and infrastructure issues.
• Maintain accurate server documentation, network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and asset inventory logs.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, System Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands‑on experience in IT infrastructure and server administration.
• At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisory, team lead, or assistant managerial role.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Deep knowledge of virtualization technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Solid understanding of backup solutions and storage area networks.
• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., ITIL v4, MCSA/MCSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware VCP) are a strong added advantage.

Soft Skills & Local Requirements:

• Strong leadership qualities with a "hands-on" approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Willingness to be based in Kuala Lumpur and occasionally travel to other local branches if required.
