Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks an Assistant Manager - Corporate Communication to shape and protect the company’s public image, manage internal and external channels, and drive local CSR programs while coordinating with the Japanese HQ.

You will partner with marketing teams across business units to support promotional and operational needs, ensure CI compliance, and build strong relationships with local media and NGOs. Proactive crisis and content strategy support is expected.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience in corporate communication (agency or in-house).
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or a related discipline.
• Excellent proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Existing network with Japanese business connections or local media contacts in Malaysia.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
• Strong project management for CSR or community-building programs.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with local media, journalists, and industry influencers in Malaysia.
• Manage and distribute press materials, coordinate interviews, and track PR metrics.
• Enforce CI guidelines and ensure brand compliance across divisions.
• Plan and manage local CSR programs and partner with NGOs and stakeholders.
• Assess sponsorship proposals and coordinate with internal divisions.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to align corporate messaging with campaigns.
• Liaise between Malaysia branch and Japanese HQ, leveraging networks to enhance reputation.
• Support content strategy, crisis communication, and review announcements with Marketing, HR, and Legal.
