Job summary

Allianz Malaysia is seeking a finance professional to lead financial reporting, planning and forecasting. You will deliver timely, accurate monthly and quarterly results and provide clear commentary to senior leadership.

The role requires managing regional IFRS/MFRS submissions, statutory reports, and audit coordination. Proficiency in MS Office, SAP and MicroStrategy, plus strong English communication, is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy or professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA) or equivalent.
• At least 5 years in related field; audit experience encouraged.
• Insurance/financial services experience is an advantage.
• Proficient in MS Office; SAP and MicroStrategy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead timely and accurate financial reporting, planning and forecasting for senior leadership.
• Coordinate monthly regional submissions and IFRS/MFRS reporting.
• Ensure regulatory filings are complete and timely; liaise with regulators as needed.
• Prepare interim and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Oversee tax estimates, computations and liaise with tax agents.
• Coordinate audits and address audit findings with auditors.
• Monitor performance against budgets and recommend corrective actions.
• Support discussions on new accounting standards (MFRS 17, MFRS 9).
• Maintain regulatory compliance and keep abreast of reporting requirements.

Job description

Job Summary

Responsible the financial reporting, financial planning and forecasting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate financial reports, provide write up/commentary, analysis and interpretation of results, monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the Company's financial results;
• Handle the preparation of all submissions to regional office including the preparation of monthly management report under both local and IFRS basis. Ensure completeness and timeliness of all regional reporting;
• Ensure accurate and timely filing and reports to regulatory bodies;
• Prepare and ensure completeness and accuracy of management reports;
• Handle tax-related matters including tax estimate, tax computation and other tax matters and liase with tax agent on tax compliance matters and resolve tax issues;
• Preparation of interim and annual financial statements;
• Prepare quarterly reports for Bursa Malaysia, annual report and analyst briefing deck;
• Dealing with auditors on audit process and resolve audit findings, accounting and audit issues;
• Identify and explore ways in improving efficiency and accuracy of reporting deliverables;
• Ensure accuracy of monthly management reports and presentation materials to senior management, regional office, board and board committes;
• Monitor and analyse financial performance against budgets, highlight significant deviations and recommending corrective actions to improve performance;
• Participate in finance activities to assess new accounting standards and regulatory requirements in terms of financial impact;
• Keep abreast with the relevant regulations, guidelines, and reporting requirements issued by regulatory bodies and ensure compliance;
• To be actively involved in discussion, preparation and analysis work for statutory returns particularly on MFRS 17 and MFRS 9;
• Any other ad-hoc function assigned by the Management.

Key Requirements

• Must possess at least Degree in Accountancy/ Professional Qualifications (ACCA, CPA, etc.) or other equivalent professional qualifications in Accountancy
• At least 5 year(s) of working experience in related field. Candidates with audit experience are strongly encouraged to apply
• Insurance industry experience will be an added advantage;
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge and experience in SAP and MicroStrategy are preferred
• Have a strong sense of commitment, teamwork, good interpersonal, communication & stakeholder management skills. Meticulous and detailed oriented.
• Well versed in MFRS
• Good command of English - both written and oral
• Proficient with the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT for tasks simplification
