Generali Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad is seeking a Specialist, Finance Reporting (Regional) to prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages in line with MFRS17, MFRS4, and group policies. The role supports treasury, controls, and senior management with timely, accurate reporting.
You will collaborate with actuarial, methodologies, and other finance teams worldwide, maintain templates, and help with budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory submissions to BNM and PIDM.
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages in compliance with MFRS17, MFRS4, Generali Group Accounting Policies, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) guidelines, and requirements of local industry bodies (PIDM, LIAM, etc.).
Produce and deliver management accounts and financial information for shareholders, regulators, and industry bodies.
Support treasury and investment activities with strong governance, reconciliation, and financial analysis to support management decision making.
Responsibilities:
1. Regional Reporting
Preparation and timely submission of monthly/quarterly/annually financial reporting package in accordance with MFRS and Generali Group Accounting Policies. Upload data into Group Reporting system (Tagetik) according to stipulated timelines by group finance.
Maintain documentation and templates for budgeting and forecasting processes.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of budget and forecast data into Group Reporting system.
Liaise closely with regional office on the new / additional reporting requirement to ensure meeting the regional reporting requirement.
To ensure proper SOP documentation and enhancement of regional reporting process for regional reporting.
2. Local Statutory Reporting (MFRS4 & MFRS17)
Preparation and timely submission of monthly/quarterly/annually financial reporting package in accordance with local MFRS 17 and local regulator requirement, i.e. BNM.
Prepare & compile information to input into Risk Based Capital Framework Form (quarterly).
Analyze and identify any gaps for the new reporting requirements.
Analysis of financial result and providing commentaries on variances (BNM MOM monthly).
Work closely with various stakeholders (actuarial, methodology team, other finance team members) in sourcing additional information requested; in order to close the gaps.
To develop a new reporting template / to enhance the existing report to meet the new reporting requirement.
To ensure proper SOP documentation for MFRS17 BNM reporting.
To support on project i.e Insurance & Takaful Statistical Reporting (ITSR) and etc.
Support the compilation of data and analysis in response to queries from the BNM officers.
Assist in Annual Financial Statement preparation.
3. Daily Cash Management & Investment linked unit pricing
Support the daily cash management & investment linked activities (Rotation).
Ensure timely & preparation of Investment linked NAV computation and unit price publication on the company website.
Preparation of company daily cashflow, ensure daily cash is sufficient to meet the insurance & non-insurance payment, as well as company’s investment obligation.
Execution of Bond trades for company Life fund, as instructed by investment department.
Perform monthly unit reconciliation.
Requirements:
Preferably has a degree in an Accounting/Finance, while a professional certification (e.g., ACCA, ACCA, MIA) or relevant technical qualifications are desirable.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Insurance/Financial Industry, particularly in Finance function.
Candidates with strong knowledge of MFRS 4 and MFRS 17 will have an added advantage.
