Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks an experienced Assistant Finance Manager to oversee financial and accounting functions for the Accounts/Finance section under Corporate Finance & Accounts. The role involves overseeing monthly management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting and variance analyses, and ensuring compliance with MFRS and internal guidelines. You will liaise with auditors, manage cash flow, and lead the finance team to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in finance and accounting, with audit background.
• Strong knowledge of MFRS and statutory compliance requirements.
• Prior experience in property investment/property management accounting is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain high integrity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly management accounts, financial reports and schedules.
• Review and present financial statements, budgets and variance analyses.
• Ensure accounting treatments in line with MFRS and internal reporting guidelines.
• Review payment documents and act as online banking authoriser.
• Monitor cash flow, rental collections and operating expenses.
• Ensure JMB accounts reporting and liaise with external auditors, tax agents and bankers.
• Provide leadership and supervision to the finance team to meet deadlines.

Education

Degree in Accounting/Finance

Professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/MICPA/CIMA)

Job description

To oversee financial and accounting functions, including reporting matters for the Accounts/Finance section (Property Investment/Management and other assigned portfolios) under the Corporate Finance & Accounts Department.

Key responsibilities

Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly management accounts, financial reports, and relevant schedules

Review and present financial statements, management reports, budget submissions, and variance analyses

Ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with MFRS, statutory requirements, and internal reporting guidelines

Review and verify payment documents prepared by subordinates prior to submission for approval and authorised signatories

Act as an online banking authoriser for assigned companies and banking platforms

Monitor cash flow positions and ensure adequate funding for operational requirements

Monitor rental collections, service charges, operating expenses, and related financial performance

Ensure accurate accounting and reporting for Joint Management Body (JMB) accounts and related matters

Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretaries, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and corporate governance requirements

Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to team members to ensure productivity and adherence to deadlines

About you

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in finance and accounting, with prior audit background

Strong knowledge of accounting standards (MFRS) and statutory compliance requirements

Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and prepare management reports

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure

High integrity, attention to detail, and strong sense of responsibility

Professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, MICPA, CIMA) or currently pursuing will be an added advantage

Prior experience in property investment / property management accounting will be an advantage
