Job summary

Valiram, a leading luxury goods and 360° retail specialist in Southeast Asia, seeks a seasoned FP&A professional in Kuala Lumpur. You will lead budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis across business units, monitor P&L impacts, and drive profitability with rigorous KPI management.

Responsibilities include monthly consolidation, financial reporting to senior management, and ERP system support. A 5+ year track record in luxury or premium retail is preferred; Fluent English is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in related discipline is required.
• At least 5 years of management experience in luxury goods or a comparable retail environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; pleasant personality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed financial analysis including modelling, KPI setting, profitability and ROI analyses.
• Monitor P&L impact for Business Units and provide timely insights.
• Lead budgeting and forecast processes with accurate reporting to senior leadership.
• Consolidate monthly Group TB and deliver timely financial reports to cost centres.
• Support ERP system Master data updates and run analyses for cost control.
• Supervise team members and maintain strong cross-functional collaboration.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Perform detailed financial analysis including financial modelling, KPI setting and monitoring, profitability analysis, return on investment analysis and return on net asset analysis.
• To monitor business issues and impact to Profit & Loss of the Business Units.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

Planning and Analysis

• Responsible to ensure the Business Units planning timelines are met, accurate and reliable.
• Responsible to ensure any substantial deviations from the Business Units are instantly reported.
• Responsible to ensure various analytical functions are performed to provide support for the business performance.

Reporting

• Responsible on the preparation of monthly and yearly financial reports to business units and cost centres.
• Regular discussions on performance with business leaders and cost centres are required.
• Responsible to ensure Forecast financials accuracy and timeline are met.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning & Analysis

• Budget planning as well as forecast must be delivered on pre-agreed time and as accurate as possible. Deviations are reported monthly.
• Assists in monitoring the cost spending monthly and deviations must be followed up with the respective business units.
• Responsible to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of Sales and KPIs reports and its deliverance at a set dateline.
• Responsible to ensure the Discount structure are monitored and deviations must be followed up with the respective business units immediately.
• Responsible to ensure the monthly review of Gross Margin per stores through sampling basis to ensure the correct margins applied
• A regular reporting of the work and measure to the superior is required.
• Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and reforecast and analyse fluctuations
• Responsible in the preparation of budget and forecast process.
• Assist evaluation of profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the Group as needed.
• Setting of KPI’s for Business Units after consultation from SVP/CFO/CEO
• To support in other planning & analysis functions.

Reporting

• Responsible on the monthly consolidation of Trial Balance of the Group against Accounts submission.
• Responsible on the preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports to Business Units and cost centres.
• Responsible on reviewing monthly expenses and revenue of Corporate Office cost centres. Performing of analysis and reclassification is required.
• Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of Profit & Loss of the Business Units and Group. All unusual deviations must be reported, and counter measures be taken to achieve the set goals.
• Provide support to the Superior in warehouse and management costing through monthly analysis and necessary reclassifications.

FP&A System

• Support administration work such as updating of M3 master data.
• Support in managing the system in terms of improvement and solving problems when required. Leadership
• To assist in conducting staff appraisal and performance reviews of team members.
• To improve staff morale leading to positive and dynamic working attitude and environment
• To support all business units where relevant and to maintain effective controls.

Other

• Attend to ad-hoc request/assignment as and when required by Superior, Senior Management and Directors. Urgent request must be attended immediately.
• Supervise and provide support (hands on work might be required) to subordinates to ensure set deliverables.
• Maintain a good relationship with Director, Senior Management, direct superior and other team members within the department and other departments.
• Must be always able to support in other team functions.

POSITION SPECIFICATION:

• Minimum a Bachelor Degree in related discipline
