Job summary

KPJ Healthcare Berhad is seeking a diligent Linen Attendant to support hospital linen management across our facilities in Malaysia. You will inspect, sort, weigh, and store clean and soiled linens, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with hospital specifications and ISO standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in housekeeping, laundry, or linen services.
  • Ability to organize and manage linen inventory effectively.
  • Attention to detail in inspecting and sorting linen for quality assurance.
  • Capability to follow hospital protocols and hygiene standards.
  • Basic record-keeping and documentation skills for linen tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Examine clean linen received from the laundry to ensure quality and cleanliness.
  • Separate linen that needs rewash or condemnation and notify the supervisor immediately.
  • Store linen on shelves or cabinets after verifying quantity and type.
  • Ensure that the linen is neatly and systematically arranged.
  • Check and validate the weighing process of clean linen received from vendors.
  • Ensure the recorded weight is accurate.
  • Assist in checking the quality and quantity of all new incoming linens.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital specifications and proper labeling.
  • Conduct periodic checks on the condition of hospital linen.
  • Report to the supervisor when stocks reach minimum levels for ordering purposes.
  • Record the weight of clean and dirty linen in the record book.
  • Maintain consistent records and report daily.
  • Count and record linen to fulfill requisitions and maintain par levels.
  • Conduct periodic inventory checks.
  • Maintain and ensure curtain cleaning follows the schedule.
  • Ensure timely ward curtain changes.
  • Collect and prepare all soiled linen in soiled linen bags for collection by the laundry vendor.
  • Ensure that linen is neatly and systematically arranged and stacked.
  • Adhere to the hospital's employee rules and regulations.
  • Report for duty punctually and wear the correct uniform and name tag.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management and be ready to come to the hospital urgently if needed.
  • On-the-job training for new staff.
  • Ensure new staff are well-trained and capable of performing tasks.
  • Carry out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act (Amendments) 2022 and Other Regulations.
  • To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons;
  • To co-operate with your employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty;
  • To wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer;
  • To comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and hospital accreditation standards (MSQH and JCI).
