Job summary

MRD in Malaysia is seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant Manager, HR & General Affairs to oversee core HR operations, manage end-to-end recruitment, drive employee development, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

You will work closely with department heads and leadership to optimize organizational effectiveness, foster a positive workplace culture, and lead payroll, training, and HR reporting across the company.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in HR, including management.
• Experience in payroll administration and HRMS software.
• Strong knowledge of local labor laws and statutory requirements.
• Hands-on experience in Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and developing training plans.

Responsibilities

• HR Strategy & Operations: Review, develop, and implement HR processes, policies, and procedures; assist with organizational design, restructuring, and budget monitoring.
• Payroll & Compliance: Oversee monthly payroll processing using HRMS software and liaise with government bodies on statutory requirements.
• Talent Acquisition: Manage full-cycle executive and non-executive recruitment, formulate recruitment and retention strategies.
• Training & Development: Conduct Training Needs Analysis, build Yearly Training Plans, and coordinate programs to bridge competency gaps.
• Employee Relations: Handle employee grievances diplomatically, maintain positive workplace relations, and execute disciplinary actions when necessary.
• HR Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly HR and manpower reports for management meetings and budget planning.
