Job summary

Damoora Catering & Event (by Damoo Group) is seeking an Assistant Head Chef to support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and large-scale catering production. You will oversee food preparation, production, quality control, and kitchen staff to ensure consistency with established recipes and standards.

With 2–4 years of kitchen experience and a background in catering, banquet, or large-volume production, you will lead a busy team, manage deadlines, and uphold food hygiene and safety.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of kitchen experience, preferably in a supervisory or senior role.
• Experience in catering, banquet, central kitchen, or large-volume production.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, food hygiene, and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and catering production.
• Supervise kitchen staff during food preparation and production.
• Allocate kitchen tasks according to daily orders and production requirements.
• Ensure food is prepared according to approved recipes, portion sizes, presentation, and quality standards.
• Monitor food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation before food leaves the kitchen.
• Assist in planning food preparation and production schedules according to catering orders.
• Monitor ingredient usage, food wastage, and stock requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety.
• Lead the kitchen team during busy production periods and catering events when required.
• Train and guide junior kitchen staff and Commis Chefs

As our catering operations continue to grow, we are looking for a responsible and experienced Assistant Head Chef to support our Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and large-scale catering production.

About the role

As the Assistant Head Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations, food preparation, production, quality control, and kitchen staff. You will play an important role in ensuring every catering order is prepared consistently, efficiently, and according to established recipes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and catering production
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during food preparation and production
• Allocate kitchen tasks according to daily orders and production requirements
• Ensure food is prepared according to approved recipes, portion sizes, presentation, and quality standards
• Monitor food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation before food leaves the kitchen
• Assist in planning food preparation and production schedules according to catering orders

About you

• Minimum 2–4 years of kitchen experience, preferably with experience in a supervisory or senior kitchen position
• Experience in catering, banquet, central kitchen, or large-volume food production
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, food hygiene, and kitchen operations
• Able to manage and coordinate a kitchen team effectively
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight catering production deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and consistency
• Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays according to event schedules
