Job summary

Telekom Malaysia is seeking an Assistant General Manager, Consumer AIoT Solutions Innovation Consultant in Kuala Lumpur to lead specialist IoT solution architecture and systems integration, accelerating Unifi's Business IoT and AIoT initiatives.

You will translate business needs into secure, scalable end-to-end IoT/AIoT solutions across devices, edge, cloud, APIs and analytics, establish reference architectures, and mentor internal teams to uplift in-house IoT capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline.
• 10–15+ years of experience in IoT solution architecture, systems integration and solution consulting.
• Proven track record designing end-to-end IoT solutions across multi-vendor ecosystems.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE JOB

• The AGM Business AIoT Solutions Consultant provides specialist IoT solution architecture and systems-integration expertise to accelerate Unifi's expansion into Business IoT and AIoT opportunities.
• The role translates business and industry requirements into secure, scalable and repeatable end-to-end IoT solutions spanning devices, connectivity, edge, IoT platforms, cloud, APIs, analytics and ecosystem integration.
• Working closely with Business AIoT Development & Commercialization, Product, GTM and Sales, the role validates technical feasibility and establishes the architecture, integration requirements and technical frameworks required to convert identified business opportunities into deployable solutions.
• The role establishes reusable reference architectures, technical blueprints and integration standards that enable Unifi to move from one-off solution engineering towards standardized and repeatable Business IoT solutions.
• As an Subject Matter Expert (SME), the consultant will accelerate the development of sustainable in-house IoT architecture and systems-integration expertise through structured mentoring, technical governance, solution playbooks and knowledge transfer to internal resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business IoT Solution Architecture & Solutioning

• Translate business requirements and validated use cases into secure, scalable and technically viable end-to-end IoT/AIoT solutions.
• Architect solutions spanning devices and sensors, connectivity, gateways/edge, IoT platforms, cloud, APIs, analytics and ecosystem integration.
• Conduct technical feasibility assessments and recommend appropriate architectures, technologies and integration approaches.
• Ensure solutions meet required standards for scalability, security, interoperability, reliability and operational readiness.

Solution Architecture, Integration & Technical Standards

• Develop reusable reference architectures, technical blueprints, standard BOMs, integration patterns and deployment methodologies.
• Define technical and integration standards across multi-vendor devices, connectivity, IoT platforms, APIs and partner ecosystems.
• Establish technical design guardrails and solution-acceptance criteria.
• Assess device, platform, OEM and technology-partner compatibility.
• Establish technical governance to ensure consistency and quality across Business IoT solutions.
• Convert successful IoT implementations into standardized and repeatable solution frameworks.
• Reduce dependency on one-off engineering through reusable architectures, integration patterns and deployment models.
• Establish standard configurations, technical documentation and deployment blueprints.
• Improve deployment efficiency and shorten technical-readiness lead time.
• Provide technical inputs to Product for validated opportunities while maintaining clear Product ownership.

Technical Opportunity Enablement

• Provide specialist technical expertise for strategic or complex Business IoT opportunities.
• Support technical discovery, architecture, feasibility assessment and solution validation.
• Develop solution blueprints and integration requirements required to accelerate technical readiness.
• Work with Business AIoT Development & Commercialization to validate technical feasibility of new business opportunities.
• Support GTM and Sales on complex technical requirements while maintaining their respective commercial ownership.
• Evaluate IoT/AIoT technologies, platforms, devices and integration approaches.
• Assess OEMs, technology providers and ecosystem partners from an architecture and interoperability perspective.
• Define device, connectivity, API and platform integration requirements.
• Recommend architectures and technologies that improve scalability, reliability and deployment efficiency.

IoT Capability Development & Knowledge Transfer

• Establish and institutionalize specialist IoT architecture and systems-integration expertise within Unifi.
• Mentor and coach identified internal technical resources.
• Develop reusable architecture methodologies, technical playbooks and integration standards.
• Conduct structured knowledge transfer covering devices, connectivity, platforms, APIs, cloud/edge and technical governance.
• Establish architecture-review and solution-assurance practices.
• Progressively reduce dependency on external consultants, SI's, OEMs and technology partners for core IoT technical expertise.

CANDIDATE MUST HAVE

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Information Systems or related technical discipline.
