Job summary

U Mobile is seeking a Senior AI & Automation Developer to own the journey from business problem to deployed AI/automation solution. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to determine what should be automated or AI-assisted and build the solution.

This hybrid role blends BA/PM thinking with engineering execution, balancing discovery with hands-on implementation. You will engage with enterprise and tech teams, define patterns, document standards, and prioritize automation requests,

Qualifications

• BA/PM-oriented mindset with hands-on automation or AI building is a plus.
• Demonstrated hands-on use of AI developer tools in production workflows (CODEX, GitHub, MCP).
• Experience designing and delivering REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and enforcing code quality (TypeScript strict mode, linting, testing).
• Experience supporting multi-regional or multi-tenant platforms.
• Strong Cloud experience (AWS or Azure).
• Excellent communication with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience in telco or regulated B2B environments is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Single Task Owner for end-to-end initiatives from discovery to deployment and operational readiness.
• Lead discovery conversations with business stakeholders to understand real needs.
• Design, build, and configure AI-driven automation: LLM workflows, AI agents, and low-code orchestration.
• Decide treatment for each problem (full automation, AI-assisted, or manual) and explain reasoning.
• Serve as technical lead between Enterprise and Tech; align with Solution Architect on patterns.
• Set documentation standards and review others' work before go-live.
• Help prioritize and triage automation requests across the business.

Job Summary

We're looking for a Senior AI & Automation Developer to own the full journey from business problem to deployed AI/automation solution. You'll sit directly with business stakeholders to understand what they actually need, decide what should be automated, AI-assisted, or left as-is, and build the solution yourself. This is a hybrid role for someone who thinks like a BA or PM but builds like an engineer, comfortable running a discovery conversation with a business leader one day and configuring an AI agent workflow the next.

The Day-To-Day Activities

• You will act as the Single Task Owner (STO) for complex or ambiguous initiatives that owns the end-to-end from discovery, solutioning, testing, deployment and operational readiness.
• Lead discovery conversations directly with business stakeholders to understand real operational needs, not just the stated request.
• Design, build, and configure AI-driven automation: LLM based workflows, conversational and AI agents, and low-code orchestration where appropriate.
• Decide the right treatment for each problem (full automation, AI-assisted with human in loop, or best left manual ) and be able to explain your reasoning.
• Act as the technical point of contact between Enterprise and Tech team; reviews the AI process maps and build decisions before go live. Work closely with the Solution Architect to establish and maintain an approved pattern boundary.
• Set the documentation and technical standard for the wider team, and review others' work before it goes live.
• Help prioritize and triage incoming automation requests across the business.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Min. 5 - 8 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong full-stack depth in Next.js/React, Node.js, and TypeScript
• Preferred but not mandatory for candidate with experience combining business analysis, product, or consulting-style discovery work with hands-on automation or AI building
• Demonstrated hands-on use of AI developer tools in production workflows — CODEX, GitHub, MCP, or equivalent. This is the core technical requirement.
• Experience designing and delivering REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and enforcing code quality standards (TypeScript strict mode, linting, testing).
• Experience supporting multi-regional or multi-tenant platforms.
• Strong Cloud experience such as AWS or Azure.
• Strong communication skills and able to work directly with cross-functional and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in telco, banking, or another regulated B2B enterprise environment is an advantage.
