Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai in Sabah invites an energetic Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our hospitality team. Based in Sepanggar, you will assist in managing daily F&B operations across resort outlets, ensuring exceptional dining experiences while upholding service standards and profitability.

You will work closely with the Director, supervise staff, monitor cost controls, train teams, and coordinate with kitchen and service colleagues to deliver high-quality food and beverage

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in F&B management in luxury hospitality.
• Demonstrated supervisory or assistant management experience.
• Strong knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and financials.
• Familiarity with F&B management systems and POS tech.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene regulations.
• Ability to lead teams and handle guest inquiries professionally.

About the role

Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our dynamic hospitality team. This is a position based in Sepanggar, Sabah, offering an exciting opportunity to support the management of our food and beverage operations across our resort facilities.

As Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our guests whilst maintaining operational excellence, cost efficiency, and high standards of service. You will work closely with the Director to oversee daily operations, staff management, and the delivery of outstanding culinary experiences that reflect our resort's commitment to quality and hospitality.

Key responsibilities

Assist in the daily supervision and management of food and beverage staff across all resort outlets, including restaurants, bars, and in-room dining

Ensure consistent service quality and adherence to operational procedures and house standards

Support inventory management, stock control, and cost monitoring to maintain profitability targets

Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure timely and high-quality food and beverage delivery

Monitor and maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards in all food and beverage areas in compliance with local regulations

Assist in staff training, scheduling, and performance management to develop a motivated and professional team

Handle guest inquiries and complaints related to food and beverage services with professionalism and discretion

Support menu planning and special event catering arrangements

Maintain accurate records of sales, expenditure, and operational metrics

Participate in promotional activities and revenue-generating initiatives to enhance guest experiences

What we're looking for

Minimum 3-5 years' experience in food and beverage management within a 4-5 star hotel, resort, or similar hospitality establishment

Proven supervisory or assistant management experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment

Strong knowledge of food service operations, including kitchen procedures, restaurant management, and bar operations

Excellent understanding of cost control, budgeting, and financial management principles

Proficiency in food and beverage management systems and point-of-sale (POS) technology

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams

Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations relevant to food service operations

Customer service excellence and the ability to handle challenging situations with grace and professionalism

Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by resort operations

Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications (such as Diploma in Hotel Management or Food & Beverage Management) are highly desirable
