Job summary

Turner & Townsend SDN. BHD. in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Cost Manager to support cost management for advanced manufacturing and high-tech facility projects. The role covers CSA and MEP scopes, cost planning, procurement, contract administration and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

This position offers exposure to complex manufacturing facilities and fast-track construction, working alongside experienced cost and project management teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (QS/Cost Management/Construction Management/Engineering).
• 2–5 years of experience in quantity surveying, cost management, or commercial management roles.
• Experience supporting CSA and/or MEP works.
• Exposure to advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, industrial, pharmaceutical, data centre, or mission-critical projects is advantageous.
• Proficiency in cost planning, procurement, and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, feasibility studies, and cost plans.
• Support cost benchmarking, quantity take-offs, and cost analysis activities.
• Assist with value engineering exercises and cost optimization initiatives.
• Monitor project budgets and track expenditure against approved cost plans.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and procurement packages for CSA and MEP works.
• Support tender evaluations, commercial assessments, and recommendation reports.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and consultants during procurement activities.
• Assist in maintaining procurement schedules and tender registers.
• Support post-contract cost management including variations and contract administration.
• Review contractor claims and assist with valuation of work completed.
• Maintain cost reports, variation logs, and project financial records.
