Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Malaysia seeks an Assistant Cost Manager to support cost management for large-scale advanced manufacturing and high-tech facility projects, covering MEP and CSA scopes. You will assist with cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

The role offers exposure to complex facilities, mission-critical environments, and fast-track construction alongside experienced cost and project teams.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in quantity surveying, cost management, or commercial management roles.
• Experience supporting construction projects involving CSA and/or MEP works.
• Exposure to advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, industrial, pharmaceutical, data centre, or mission-critical projects is highly advantageous.
• Previous experience within a cost consultancy, project management consultancy, contractor, or client-side environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of pre-contract and post-contract cost management practices; strong Excel and cost tools familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, feasibility studies, and cost plans throughout project stages.
• Support cost benchmarking, quantity take-offs, and cost analysis activities.
• Assist with value engineering exercises and cost optimization initiatives.
• Monitor project budgets and track expenditure against approved cost plans.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and procurement packages for CSA and MEP works.
• Support tender evaluations, commercial assessments, and recommendation reports.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and consultants during procurement activities.
• Assist in maintaining procurement schedules and tender registers.
