Private Advertiser is seeking an accounting professional to manage Inventory and Fixed Assets in Malaysia. You will ensure accurate transactional processing under global policies and support local GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP requirements.
The role requires SAP ERP experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work across cultures within a multinational setting. You will participate in stock counts, asset accounting, and process improvements.
Reporting to Inventory Accounting Regional Process Lead, Asia & AFMEI. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate, complete and timely transactional processing with consistent application of global accounting procedures (in line with policy) and the sign off of appropriate accounting transactions. This position also supports Fixed Assets Accounting for Malaysia manufacturing organizations with a dotted reporting line to the Global Fixed Assets Accounting team
Key responsibilitiesSupport the Inventory Accounting Regional Process Lead, Asia & AFMEI to deliver a culture of performance within the team, ensuring the company's performance management process is embedded and delivered within the timelines
Deliver to the expectations of the Inventory Accounting Regional Process Lead, Asia & AFMEI in managing the respective processes ensuring tasks, activities and sub-processes are standardized and aligned across the team
Transactional responsibilities include USGAPP, IFRS and local GAAP inventory accounting, FIFO inventory valuation, product costing, and inventory adjustments
Responsible for accounting support and problem solving for inventory functional areas
Liaise with Supply Chain team to resolve issues as they arise
Support and implement agreed process improvement initiatives within the inventory accounting process team
Deliver efficient and effective Inventory accounting services in line with corporate policies and legislative requirements
Participate with physical inventory stock count, conduct the related account reconciliation, and follow up the subsequent tasks including but not limited to adjustment of accounting records
Responsible for fixed asset (and intangible assets) accounting which includes physical assets stock count, account reconciliation and accounting record adjustment
Perform plant projects/capital expenditure control with site management
Requirements :Professional education in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
2 to 3 years of accounting experience
Working experience in a multinational company environment, with ability to work in diverse cultures
Extensive user of ERP systems, ideally SAP
Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
Able to handle multi-tasks and meet aggressive deadlines
Passion for driving continuous improvements
Good spoken, written English. Speak and understand another language will be an advantage
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate clearly and concisely, both in written and verbal formats, within a multi-cultural environment
